jennifer!! you’ve got the gift. literally, this quick write was exquisite. full of lush details, memories, and sharp questions. loved the quotes you brought in from audre lorde and melida rodriguez. loved this running list of other phrases, beyond sin vergüenza: you know what mami has and does call me a lot that I have self-identified with? Relambia lmao. Also freca. Arreta. Ratrera. Charlatana. continue layering these details, fragments, quotes, and in the flesh moments of revelation. you’re on the path. can’t wait to keep reading your work! lean into the details even more, just naming the woman in the blue dress brings her to life even brighter on the page. weave in the specifics. color, location, the senses etc

            Reading this lit. me. up.
It felt like you were taking me on a journey with the way you wove in quotes, anecdotes, poems as you pondered the sin vergüenza title. I love how free and unfiltered it felt while also hitting home at the same time. Similar to what G said, I would love see more detail so I can see and feel more of the moments you share. I also wanted to say that your style is inspiring me to experiment with a stream of consciousness style that this flash write reminds me of. Sometimes its easy to think rigidly about we want our writing to look like, and your writing reminded me to unclench a little more next time I write. Thanks for that. I can’t wait to see what else you write over the next few weeks.

Jennifer! You took us on a journey because you were on a journey grappling with sin verguenzaness. I really loved this line “While the vergüenza has a highlight reel at the ready, the “sin” has a constellation of word, song, and memory inspiring and reminding me that the more I feel, the more I feel.” I very much relate to this, and the idea of being an aspiring sin verguenza. I appreciated how you wove in the different quotes, and would love to see you go more in-depth to bring them into the story/writing.
